As Seen on Japanese TV!

Remember how I said I’d be updating this place with what’s been going on? Well here it is.

This past April and May I visited Japan and Korea. Now I have a lot to say about both but this post isn’t about the whole trip, just the most crucial part of the trip in my opinion; getting on Japanese Television!

We were in Hiroshima visiting the memorial and heading over to Miyajima. Okay enough about the boring trip. We were walking around the Memorial Park when we were approached by a group of people asking us if we were planning on having or have had any Hiroshima delicacies. We let them know we were planning on having Okonomiyaki, which is a savory pancake with good stuff.

They loved that answer and asked to interview of us for the cameras and if you know anything about me, I like the camera. So the interview starts and the gentleman points to the microphone and says, “Big mic” to which I reply, “I’m Big Mike” and then CJ clarifies with, “His name is Mike”. This causes the host and the three guests on the show to have their minds blown finding out someone can be named after a microphone.

They go onto ask us and we answer (I answer) about LA and the type of Japanese food we have in the US. I let them know about our Japantowns and that it’s not common to see Okonomiyaki here and when you do, you have to pay NINETEEN DOLLARS. They really made sure to play that audio loud in the video. They asked us a few more questions that didn’t air for whatever reasons (I talked too much about my bowels and convenience store food).

We then had to go record some clips of us ordering the food, presenting the food, and then eating the food. Once we agreed to the previous mentioned homework, they had us sign some paperwork. We asked if this was for a YouTube channel to which we found out this going to be on National Japanese TV and airing on May 21st at around 8:30am.

You may ask yourself why did l list the exact date and time? Well that’s because they didn’t lie. It aired on that date and at around that time. We got back to America, found a very cool and VERY legal stream of Nippon TV and watched it around 4:30pm. If you don’t believe me or just want to watch it then look no further than below!
